Debian 8.11 was released on June 23, 2018, it is the eleventh (and final) point release of Debian 8, and was available for desktop / laptop computers and servers. 32-bit (x86) and 64-bit (x86-64) versions are available, and ten computer architecture ports are officially supported in Debian 8.11. Compared to previous point releases, this Debian release includes improvements for security issues, and many serious bugs have been fixed in Debian packages. Some packages are removed, and some get security updates.

Debian 32 Bit
The first (initial) version of Debian 8 was released in April, 2015 as version Debian 8.0.0. It includes the Linux kernel 3.16, more than 43,000 packages, and officially supports ten computer architecture ports. This version includes support for two new computer architectures, which are called ARM64 and ppc64el, while the current support for s390, ia64 and sparc was dropped. For the first time Debian has introduced the systemd system by default in Debian 8.

Debian is a free and open source Linux operating system designed primarily for desktop / laptop computers and servers. This is one of the first (or oldest) distributions in Linux's history, and the first version was released in 1993. Debian has over 51,000 software packages (pre-compiled packages) which can be easily installed on the system using commands, or any graphical software. The default installation of Debian on desktop computers comes with many graphical applications (most of them are free and open source) such as Firefox Web Browser, LibreOffice, VLC Media Player, GIMP Image Editor, and Evense Document Viewer. Overall, Debian is made up of basic software programs and utilities.

- 1 GHz of processor.
- 256 MB RAM.
- 10 GB disk space.
Installation instructions
Starting installer in PC (via USB)
Follow the steps given below:
- Download the Debian 8.11 Live ISO image file from the download section.
- Install a USB bootable creation software (such as Rufus) on your Windows PC.
- Plug in a USB flash drive (at least 8-16 GB of space) with your PC.
- Open the USB bootable creation software, and select the ISO image file of Debian 8.11, and start the process.
- As soon as done, plug the bootable USB into a system where you want to install Debian 8.11.
- Restart the computer.
- Press the boot device menu key and select USB to boot first.
- Select USB device and start the Debian 8.11 installer.
Starting installer in VMware
- Download the Debian 8.11 Live ISO image file from the download section.
- Launch the VMware Player, and start creating a new virtual machine.
- Select the ISO image file of Debian 8.11, and use VM configuration according to the system requirements.
- Start the virtual machine and go to the Debian 8.11 installer.
Starting installer in VirtualBox
- Download the Debian 8.11 Live ISO image file from the download section.
- Launch the Virtualbox application on your computer, and start creating a new virtual machine.
- Select Debian and use VM configuration according to the system requirements.
- Start VM and when it asks to select the Host Drive, then select the downloaded Debian 8.11 ISO file in step 1.
Last step
As soon as you go to the Debian boot menu, follow the steps given below:
- Select the Live option and press Enter.
- Check the operating system in the live session, and if you are ready to install, simply search 'install' and select 'Install Debian' installer.
- If you have any problems in the live session, you can also go directly to 'Graphical Install' from the boot menu.
- Choose language, region, keyboard layout, etc.
- Follow the on-screen installation.
- Set the Root Password.
- For clean installation, select 'Guided - use entire disk' in the disk partition screen. (Warning - Clean installation will remove all other operating systems installed on the computer)
- Go ahead and choose 'yes' when it asks for format the partition.
- Wait while Debian 8 is installed on your computer.
- As soon as the process is complete, restart the system.
- Log in to Debian and enjoy the operating system.
